KUPONYA is the personal brand of Krystal K. Thompson (Krystal K. Thompson (eenmanszaak — sole proprietorship), KvK 71000089, VAT NL002429463B64). This page explains how kuponyaself.com processes your personal data under the GDPR (Regulation EU 2016/679).

Data collected

kuponyaself.com processes only the data strictly required for the service to function: email address, name, optional locale preference, and — when you sign up as a member — newsletter preferences, account status, and engagement signals (likes on The Dig entries and Library cards).

Purposes

  • Member account creation, moderation, and authentication

  • Sending The Dig newsletter and transactional emails (verification, welcome, account events)

  • Anonymized audience measurement (Google Analytics 4) if you consent via the cookie banner

  • Contact form handling (delivery to Krystal via Resend, anti-spam via Cloudflare Turnstile)

Legal basis

Processing relies on your consent (GDPR Art. 6.1.a) for non-essential cookies and newsletter subscription, on the performance of a service (GDPR Art. 6.1.b) for member account operations, and on legitimate interest (GDPR Art. 6.1.f) for anti-spam and security.

Retention period

  • Member account: as long as the account is active. Deletion request triggers a 30-day purge window then permanent erasure.

  • Newsletter subscription: until you unsubscribe (link in every email + Account page)

  • Server logs: 12 months

  • Analytics cookies (_ga): 13 months maximum

  • Consent records: kept append-only as GDPR proof

Hosting and location

Data hosted in Frankfurt (EU) — data stored exclusively in the European Union. Media stored on Cloudflare R2, "eu" jurisdiction. No primary-data transfers outside the EU.

Your rights

Under GDPR you have rights of access, rectification, erasure (right to be forgotten), portability, restriction and objection. To exercise them, contact krystal@kuponyaself.com.

You may also lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens, AP).

  • Render Inc. (hosting, USA — DPA signed, EU region)

  • Cloudflare R2 (media storage, EU jurisdiction)

  • Resend (transactional email delivery)

  • Google Analytics 4 (anonymized audience measurement, consent required)

  • Cloudflare Turnstile (anti-spam, no tracking cookies)
